The GEALAN window wall
The GEALAN window wall consists of a skeleton of rectangular steel pipes, the window elements and vinyl trim profiles.
Every window wall has to deal with the problem of designing the seams, especially the corners where the frames meet. Here, it is important to allow for the necessary expansion room, but also to hold the extension covers. GEALAN solves this with a specially developed exterior jamb cover.
Another critical issue in a window wall is ensuring tight seals in the jambs. This is covered in the GEALAN window wall with a continuous gasket that covers the joint. The construction is also protected by an airtight foil that is affixed between the gasket and the steel framework. This solution also ensures that any moisture that infiltrates the construction will be safely directed outside.
Another clever detail lies in the mullion covers. Their slender widths harmonise well with the window frames and the jambs for an attractive overall appearance.
Another new feature in the GEALAN window wall is the interior cover trim for the steel supports. While in the past support frames had to be painted, the new trim profiles allow for more economic cladding. They are easily clipped over the rectangular struts, and so create a pleasant interior.
