State support through favourable credit terms
The
replacement of windows is covered by the CO2 Building Renovation
Programme of the German federal government since February 2006 as an energy
savings action with low-interest credit. The windows only achieve their full
performance improvement, however, when they are installed by a professional.
To support this, since the beginning of 2006 tenants and owners can deduct
the cost of renovations and craftsmen from their taxes.
For German residents, a list of all subsidies and support programmes from federal, state and local government as well as from individual energy companies can be found online at www.foerder-data.de. More information about how to effectively save energy can be received from your local craftsman.
