Energy savings potential
Old, leaky windows are one of the largest sources of energy loss in the building's hull. With old windows, you are literally tossing your energy out the window. With newer, tight-sealing windows, however, you can save money.
We have put together the following example to show you how much money can be saved when you replace your old windows with new GEALAN windows.
| Your previous window: |
Simple wooden frame with insulated glass, pre-1995 | ![]() |
|---|---|---|
| UW = 2.8 W/m²K (DIN V 4108-4 2004-07) |
||
| Window surface: 30 m² | ||
| Your new GEALAN window: | S 8000 IQ profile system (8010/8094) with 6 chambers |
![]() |
| Ug = 0.6 W/m²K ("warm edge") |
||
| UW = 0.9 W/m²K (DIN EN ISO 10077-1) |
With the new windows, you would save approx. 4.982,- € in heating oil over a period of ten years, and emit 1,75 tonnes CO2 less per year, an important contribution to the environment.
You can calculate your personal savings potential here.
