Jugend forscht ("Youth researches")

Since 2001, GEALAN has both organised and sponsored the regional level competition for the nonprofit science contest "Jugend forscht" in Southeast Thuringia. The contest grants young people the chance to explore the natural sciences and to discover their talents. The contest's goal is to promote new talent in Germany.

St. Elisabeth Youth Shelter

With the financial support for the St. Elisabeth Youth Shelter in Hof, GEALAN assumes responsibility for children and youths in the region. The GEALAN donation goes primarily toward the juvenile social work in schools programme and is also used for the youths living at the home. Thanks to this donation, St. Elisabeth can now afford activities that were not possible before, for example holiday and recreation activities for the resident children and youths.

 

EMIL

GEALAN naturally supports the local Hof branch of the environmental protection group "Bund Naturschutz in Bayern e.V." with their youth education mobile "EMIL".

EMIL is always ready to visit classes so that kids can learn more about the plants and animals around them, and also what they can do to help conserve nature. Comparative experiments with natural cycles and how to recycle man-made materials are demonstrated.

Sports sponsoring

GEALAN shows its loyalty to the region through its sponsoring of the local sports clubs. GEALAN is the jersey sponsor for the football teams SpVgg Bayern Hof and SpVgg Oberkotzau 1912. GEALAN's financial support of these clubs ensures their continued existence.
