The durable surface
GEALAN-acrylcolor® is a premium surface made of PMMA. It not only gives plastic profiles colour and an elegant look, but also enhances them with functional advantages. Windows with a better surface are scratch-resistant, insensitive to dirt and withstand even strong weather conditions. In this way, they extend the already long service life of PVC windows even further. Get to know the technology, which we have been constantly developing for 40 years, and its many advantages!
The bond between PVC and PMMA is inseparable. In this way, it also permanently prevents the paint layer from peeling off or chipping.
The hard, sensitive acrylic layer makes windows with GEALAN-acrylcolor® resistant and robust.
Even in extreme climatic conditions, the texture of the surface is maintained for decades.
The PMMA surface is lightfast for decades. Even in strong sunlight, the color of the profiles remains unchanged.
Compared to paints, the acrylic surface offers enough material reserve to easily polish out small scratches.
The homogeneous surface looks elegant thanks to its brush effect and remains permanently insensitive to dirt.
In the coextrusion process, we fuse two materials: the white PVC base body with PMMA. PMMA is better known as acrylic glass and is also used in other areas such as vehicle construction or interior design due to its high-quality properties. The thin layer of Plexiglas gives the plastic profiles the individually desired colour and preserves it in the long term.
There is also another possibility. In the tri-extrusion process, recyclate can also be added as a third material in addition to virgin PVC and PMMA. This is how we manufacture our usual high-quality profiles with a recycled core and GEALAN-acrylcolor®.
Brushing the acrylic layer creates not only a uniform surface appearance but also a noble, silky matt sheen on the surface. This high-quality finish is unique in the market of colored windows.
In addition to the colours in the standard, extended or special range, there are two further options for the colour design of GEALAN-acrylcolor®. At GEALAN, we offer exclusive metallic colours and create the basis for completely dark window profiles with the dark base body.
Exclusively from GEALAN: Metallic colours
We are the only system provider to offer PMMA-finished surfaces in metallic colours. In this way, an exclusive selection of warm, shiny shades is created in a complicated process.
GEALAN-acrylcolor® on dark base body
The combination of dark GEALAN-acrylcolor® tones, dark grey base body and colour-coordinated decorative foils enables a variety of consistently dark designs.
In line with market trends, we are constantly adapting, optimising or expanding the colour palette of GEALAN-acrylcolor®. The standard range currently includes nine colours. In addition, the production of window profiles with an acrylic surface in up to 50 special colours is possible.
Note: Since the colour palettes for GEALAN-acrylcolor® differ in the individual profile systems, you will find the respective colour tables on the individual pages of the corresponding profile systems.

Markedly maritime
A cruise ship on land - the association is no coincidence with Scheveningen's new eye-catcher: Het Boegbeeld, which means ‘the figurehead’, is an apartment complex with 121 flats on six floors directly on Scheveningen harbour, which plays with elements of ship architecture in its appearance.
Prime location, offices, arches
The Annenhöfe in Dresden have got the hang of it: striking arches characterise the external appearance of the office building in Dresden's prime city centre location. Ultra-modern, light-flooded offices are spread over six floors and a total of 2,000 square metres.
Hotel Ramada Innsbruck Tivoli
Located in the centre of the Tyrolean capital is the Hotel Ramada Innsbruck Tivoli, which opened in December 2011. The building looks out over a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains and the world-famous Bergisel ski jump.
