LEO Hamburg had many tasks as a construction project: to realize modern living in 184 apartments, to create a visually striking entrance to the residential quarter and a counterpoint to the Hamburger Meile shopping center opposite and to assert itself in terms of urban development on a main thoroughfare, the eight-lane Oberaltenallee.
The planners succeeded in doing this with the help of a 12-storey corner building with a strong character. The façade with its varying brick structures deliberately quotes loft-like buildings from the Wilhelminian era: LEO, named after its address on Leo-Leistikow-Allee, shows how industrial style can be interpreted in a modern way.
The windows of the GEALAN System S 9000 have the GEALAN-acrylcolor® color black grey (RAL 7021) or quartz grey (RAL 7039) on the outside and white on the inside. The system design with center seal contributes to the sound insulation concept of the building.
