153 spacious residential units featuring new façades and roofs with good insulating properties as well as energy-saving systems have been built as part of a renovation project in Kerkrade in Holland. The southern aspect is also equipped with solar panels.
This residence in Oberkotzau is the first building in High Franconia to be built according to the solar house standard. The building architecture follows the principle "form follows energy" and is in perfect harmony with the solar energy concept. A 70° slanted roof with 70 m2 of solar panels faces south to capture the greatest amount of low winter sun and convert it into heat.
The seven urban villas of the second building phase continue the positive change to the housing development "Neue Burg" which started back in 2008 with the transformation of the existing buildings from the 1960s.
