GEALAN pushes its commitment to climate protection: effective immediately, the administration at the headquarters in Oberkotzau and the manufacturing facility in Tanna, Thuringia, will be completely powered by renewable energy. This means that GEALAN covers 100% of its electricity needs at both locations with energy that comes 100% from wind, sun, water, biomass and geothermal energy. The complete conversion has been certified by E.ON Deutschland GmbH.
In concrete terms, Oberkotzau saves a good 1,900 tonnes of CO2 per year, while Tanna saves more than 16,000 tonnes. "This is another milestone we are setting as a company for environmental and climate protection," says GEALAN managing director Ivica Maurović, "the first one is not. For decades, GEALAN has been successfully committed to the careful use of natural resources. With its coordinated, EMAS and ISO-certified environmental management, the company is considered a pioneer, especially in the area of recycling, and an industry leader in environmental and climate protection.
GEALAN improves its ecological footprint year after year. "This is no small thing, and it is not a matter of course that we do it," says Tino Albert, GEALAN's managing director for technology and finances. "GEALAN is acting here with full conviction that we are doing the right thing; we remain true to our corporate responsibility to the environment and act with an eye to the future. For us, environmental protection and resource efficiency are prerequisites for long-term business success.

The world's leading trade fair Fensterbau Frontale 2024 was all about an extraordinary booth concept at GEALAN: For the first time, the GEALAN exhibition area of almost 900 square meters was designed with a focus on the target group in five different themed cubes. The unusual format was very well received by the trade fair visitors.
GEALAN Fenster-Systeme has received the TOP 100 seal 2024 in the competition of the same name, making it the newly crowned innovation champion. The seal is awarded to particularly innovative medium-sized companies across all industries. The well-known science and TV journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate GEALAN on this success at the award ceremony on 28 June in Weimar.
The topics of sustainability and circular economy are becoming increasingly important in a wide variety of industries, including plastics processing companies. For many years, GEALAN has placed a special focus on developing the manufactured products as sustainably and resource-efficiently as possible throughout the entire manufacturing process. Proof of this is the company's involvement in the Recovinyl initiative.
